Using Argumentative Essay Topics in College
Using Argumentative Essay Topics in CollegeThe debate as to whether argumentative essay topics are important or not is still hotly contested. Writing with an argumentative point of view is often very similar to writing with a topic statement. In many cases, though, the reasoning behind the topic and argumentation is different. While argumentative essay topics are great, they should be carefully considered. As with all essay topics, you should use the question 'Why?'In order to truly think about the merits of a particular topic, it's important to know why you want to write it. Is it because you want to read it? Is it because you want to help others? Or, is it for a personal reason? There are various reasons for writing that may be valid. Perhaps you're doing it to help others and will benefit from your writing; you can use the topic as a resource to help them; or you have a personal reason for doing so.You may not be able to use argumentative essay topics to serve a personal purpose. Th is will depend on what makes sense to you. It's also a good idea to use a topic to help with your grades in college. As with other essay topics, though, you should realize that you must state your thoughts clearly and without bias. Nothing should come across as 'You know this, and I don't'I think this, but I'm not sure.' However, there are several circumstances in which an argumentative essay topic is acceptable. One such circumstance is a debate between two sides of an issue. Though this is very similar to an argumentative essay topic, the writer doesn't really present one side of the argument, but rather presents both of them. At times, both sides of an issue will be very strongly argumentative. You'll have to decide for yourself whether or not you want to include this in your college writing. It is important to be aware of the role of the argumentative essay topic in college, as you will most likely be using it for a specific topic. Once you understand this, you can start your essay properly and learn to debate effectively. Good luck!
